After a three month stint of living in the community I am shooting for, I opted to change things up a bit in attempts to bring back a little sanity in my life. I have relocated to the small little college town of Davis, CA and with it have tacked on a half hour one way commute to my day. Nothing against Fairfield, just need a more youthful social scene that I wouldn’t have to drive to on the weekends. Davis is super bike friendly town and reminds me a lot of my old college town of Missoula, MT minus the mountains. I look forward to exploring it. Even better news…It now cuts the driving distance to Tahoe in half. The ski season is upon us here in California! Thanks for looking, -M
This one has been a long time coming. For the past two and a half months (and over a year in planning and throwing around concepts) I have been building a new website for my photography work. I wanted one that gave smooth transitions, had a clean look, and was easy to navigate. More importantly I wanted make it a bit more modernized with the incorporation of flash. I am always looking for ways to improve on it and I have no doubts that it will keep me occupied for years to come. I welcome any comments, concerns, or suggestions on how I can improve it. Keep checking back on it for updates.

I am not a parent yet. Yet a recent assignment made me think about how I would be as a parent who’s had a kid searching for that perfect Halloween costume. The other day I went to photograph a kids halloween parade and stumbled across this little boy that was dressed up as a “Deadly Surgeon”. When ninety nine percent of the kids were wearing costumes of in the Disnet PG range, this kid was six years old and was decked out in a bloody outfit of death and carnage that would easily hold rank in the adult horror movies category. It was a shocking contrast to what other parents would let their kids dress up as. I found it humorous yet a bit over the top. To each their own I guess. Still my own person jury is out on what I would let my future kid wear as a costume.
Hear are some more images that I have taken in the last couple of days ranging from the scary holiday festivities, the hardcore parent fans, to an Annual cross county race for grade school kids.
